Mustansar Hussain Tarar: Biography and Books List

Mustansar Hussain Tarar is a prominent Urdu writer, author, and actor. He was born in Lahore in 1939. Tarar is among those writers who witnessed the partition of the subcontinent. So, his plenty of work is related to the division of Hindustan. He wrote professionally about the incidents of separation.

Mustansar Hussain also faced many difficulties due to his frank and neutral writings related to partition and the existence of Pakistan and India. All those events that he examined through observation preserved them in the form of writing. His father’s name was Rehmat Khan Tara; he used to run a small agriculture business named “Kisan and Company.”

Education

Mustansar Hussain Tarar started and got his early education in Lahore. He was educated in a school in Lahore called Rang Mehal Mission High School. After completing his early education, he got admission to Government College Lahore. For higher

To get a higher education, he went to London, where he spent much of his extracurricular activities watching movies and doing theater. It inspired him to engage with the literary company, and he became keen to learn more about bookish things. Further, in 1957, he joined the World Youth Festival held in Moscow, and he wrote a book known as “Fakhta” (Dove) that was purely based on the experience of that youth festival.

Career

Mustansar Hussain Tarar was eager to travel to different parts of the world so that he could see the natural beauties of the world. He wanted to observe the behaviors and attitudes of the people of different countries. To do so, Tarar went to Europe and traveled through 17 other countries. After traveling through these countries, he wrote all his observations in book form. He wrote a book titled “Nikley Teri Tlaash Main,” a travelogue of those seventeen countries he visited. This book was published in 1971 that he dedicated to his youngest brother Mobashir Hussain Tarar.

Tarar also performed acting on television and was further involved in hosting different TV programs and live morning shows like Subuh Bakhair (Good Morning). His down-to-earth acting impressed the audience at large. He was appreciated by the massive audience, especially by the children, and was known as the title of Cha Cha Jee (paternal uncle). Tarar has unique likings, and all of his affections belong to nature. He wanted to see and explore the beauties of the landscape created by Allah Almighty. He also had been involved in volcanic activities. Tarar was a very active mountaineer in K2 and Chitti Buoi Glacier for many years.
